Buddha snubs 'juvenile' Mamata
Says Trinamool Chief's demand for his arrest on red war uncalled for.
Banerjee had alleged that the law and order in the state is at its worst whenever the CM is away. I dont reply to such questions (on Banerjees reported charge ). It is a case of juvenile disorder, Bhattacharjee told reporters here. He even went on to state that he did not take the TMC leader seriously .
To a question on the TMC chiefs opposition to the joint operations against Maoists, he said, It is unfortunate. A Union minister should not speak such language, especially when the Prime Minister himself has called the Maoist threat as the greatest challenge to internal security .
When the PM himself is making an observation, ministers should follow, he said. I have been trying to avoid comments on what the railway minister says. I dont take it seriously, he said. He also took a dig at the Trinamool slogan of Ma, mati, manush, that Banerjee keeps repeating , and said, Its not a political slogan... its the name of a jatra.
Bhattacharjee, who had been keeping away from the capital, in fact, appeared a different man on Monday in comparison to the last six months when he, like the rest of his party in West Bengal, looked beaten by the Trinamools success. His body language at the press conference here after he met the PM exuded the same confidence that was reflected during the Lefts heyday when it gave outside support to the UPA-1 regime.
