Former Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy alleged that the incumbent CM B S Yeddyurappa's family, in the eye of land scamstorms, received a whopping Rs 20 crore from a mining firm, allegedly for favours.

BANGALORE: Former Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy on Saturday alleged that the incumbent CM B S Yeddyurappa's family, in the eye of land scamstorms, received a whopping Rs 20 crore from a mining firm, allegedly for favours.

Releasing documents to support this on Saturday, the JD (S) leader said the money was deposited into the accounts of the CM's two sons, Shimoga MP B Y Raghavendra and B Y

Vijayendra, as well as Yeddyurappa's son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar. The Bellary-based South West Mining Ltd, which has taken up manganese ore mining contracts in Bellary from state-owned Mysore Minerals Ltd, made these remittances, he added.

When contacted by STOI, M V S Seshagiri Rao, joint managing director, Jindal Steel Works (Steel Ltd), said South West Mining Ltd was part of their group. ''I will not be able to comment on the transactions unless I see the documents,'' he added.

As per the documents, while Rs 10 crore was deposited in Raghavendra's account, Rs 5 crore each was credited to the accounts of Vijayendra and Sohan Kumar respectively, Kumaraswamy said.
