BSP top brass failed to detect rebelion in time
LUCKNOW: While the debate rages whether Mayawati would gain or loose from a series of rebellions by key leaders, it is becoming increasingly clear that the rebels have been able to catch her off guard and her failure to gauge the extent of resentment brewing within the party. That Swami Prasad Maurya, Brijesh Pathak, RK Chowdhry etc were being neglected in the BSP and were likely to dump it was speculated for long in UP political circles.

The signs were there for all to see. But that it had actually reached the breaking point and these leaders were going to snap ties within days, was clearly missed by Mayawati and her coterie of leaders, who claim to act as her eyes and ears.

That Brijesh Pathak was in direct touch with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, whom he knew from their Rajya Sabha days, and also BJP's general secretary incharge of UP, Om Mathur was lost on Mayawati and her core team.

Pathak, who was BSP's second most prominent Brahmin face, was busy finalising his entry into BJP, but despite clear signs of his unease within the BSP and likelihood of snapping ties, Mayawati and her men could not get wind the rebellion brewing within. In fact Pathak was officially entrusted with coordinating with the media for BSP's Agra rally on Sunday.
