LUCKNOW: Terming as illegal the allotment of land to SP leader Azam Khan's trust in Rampur, BSP today said it will raise the issue in the budget session of Uttar Pradesh legislature beginning tomorrow.

"The land allotment to the trust is illegal... if the House is run as per the schedule and not cut short, we will raise the matter," Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Naseemuddin Siddiqui said here.

On senior state minister's outbursts against Governor Ram Naik, Siddiqui said the former is in the habit of humiliating people and it is unpredictable what he will speak and where.

Siddiqui was responding to questions on state government allotting the building that houses the Jauhar Research Institute to Khan's trust on a 33-year lease at Rs 100 per annum.

"The state government has been fixing long schedules for conducting the House but has been cutting it short and just completing formalities," he said.

"Many a times the government gets information also through the opposition...we also used to get it when we were in the government," Siddiqui said, adding all issues, whether these were against any party, needed to be raised.

The former BSP minister accused the SP as 'goondas' of extorting money from overloaded trucks in his native place Banda and alleged that relatives of a state minister were hand in gloves with them.

"It should be probed...illegal mining is going on in the state and loot is on in the name of mining," Siddiqui said.

Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly, Swami Prasad Maurya said his party will raise issues pertaining to law and order, hooch deaths, recovery of skeletons, problems facing sugarcane, paddy growers and swine flu.

Maurya warned that Akhilesh Yadav government will face the consequences of "betraying people" as Modi government faced in the Delhi Assembly elections.
