BSP Rajya Sabha member Naresh Agarwal likely to join SP

In a jolt to the ruling BSP, its National General Secretary and Member of Parliament Naresh Agarwal is likely to join the Samajwadi Party today.

LUCKNOW: In a jolt to the ruling BSP, its National General Secretary and Member of Parliament Naresh Agarwal is likely to join the Samajwadi Party today.

Samajwadi Party sources said the move comes after Agarwal's son Nitin Agarwal, a sitting BSP MLA from Hardoi was denied ticket for the coming UP assembly elections.

Naresh's term in Rajya Sabha is also expiring in the first week of April. Before joining BSP, Naresh was cabinet minister in Samajwadi Party government.

He has earlier been in the Congress and Loktantrik Congress also.

The SP sources said that all preparations have been made to announce Naresh's joining, which is likely to be done in presence of party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav here.
