BSP MLA held for sexual harassment
Acting swiftly over the complaint by a woman research scholar of being physically exploited and kept in illegal confinement by a ruling BSP MLA Sribhagwan Sharma.
The Mayawati administration acted swiftly, after a case of sexual harassment, illegal confinement and criminal conspiracy was lodged against the MLA on the basis of a complaint by the research scholar Sheetal. The research scholar, in her compliant lodged at the Kasganj police station in Kashiram Nagar, said that she had an intimate relationship with Sharma for the last three years.
Sharma had defeated former BJP chief minister Kalyan Singh���s son Rajvir Singh in Dibai assembly constituency in Bulandshahar district.
The victim said that Sharma had also married her in a temple about a year back, but later on she discovered that he was already married and had two children. On learning this she tried to end the relationship, but Sharma forced her to continue as his mistress. When she objected to his demands, the MLA���s men physically tortured her and family members.
