BSP 'maharally': PIL seeks CBI probe into expenses

A PIL was filed in Allahabad HC seeking CBI probe into the BSP rally expenses.

LUCKNOW: A PIL was today filed in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court seeking a CBI probe into the expenses during the BSP 'maharally' here on March 15, including the controversial garland of currency notes.

Three local layers filed the PIL alleging that about Rs 175 crore of public money was spent in the rally and Rs 25 crore on the garland.

B P Singh Bishen, one of the petitioners, told PTI that in the PIL, the Central and the State governments were made respondents beside BSP through its national general secretary.

The PIL is likely to come up for hearing on March 22.
