BSP leader Brijlal Khabri joins Congress, targets Mayawati
NEW DELHI: The Congress has made two presentable catches from Mawawati’s BSP in pollbound Uttar Pradesh. Two-time MP and BSP national general secretary Brij Lal Khabri and threetime party MLA Dhruv Ram joined the Congress on Monday at a function presided over by AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad at the party headquarters.

Welcoming both leaders to the Congress fold, Azad said their entry, along with supporters, will strengthen the Congress in UP.

PCC chief Raj Babbar and campaign in-charge Sanjay Singh too were present on the occasion.

Both Khabri and Ram justified their defection by lashing out at Mayawati and alleged that the BSP chief has been playing ‘politics of donation’.

The Congress ‘poaching’ has left many wondering whether it would be possible for the party to have an alliance with the BSP.
