MUZAFFARNAGAR: Bahujan Samaj Party has expelled former MLA Balbir Singh Kiwana for anti-party activities.

Kiwana was expelled from the party yesterday on the directions of party high command after he was found involved in anti-party activities, said BSP Shamli district president Arvind Kumar.

Reportedly, BSP had declared him its candidate from Shamli constituency for UP assembly polls 2017.

Meanwhile, Kiwana alleged that a party leader has been pressurising him for "arranging" a fund of Rs 15 lakh for the celebration of party chief Mayawati's birthday.

However, no BSP functionary was available for reaction over the allegation.

He was elected to Kandhla assembly constituency in 2007.
