BSP chief Mayawati meets Una victims, tells them to unite for power
LUCKNOW/GANDHINAGAR : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati met Dalit victims of “cow vigilantes” in Ahmedabad on Thursday and said that ever since the Narendra Modi government has come to power, crime against Muslims and Dalits in the name of cow protection has increased manifold.

She offered financial help to those who tried to commit suicide over Dalit attrocities and appealed that instead of trying to take their life the Dalits should seek inspiration from Dr Ambedkar’s life and unite to control power in society.

Mayawati met victims of the Una incident and those who later consumed poison during an agitation, at the Ahmadabad civil hospital. She also garlanded the statue of Dr Ambedkar in the Gujarat capital.

Mayawati said that though the Una incident happened on July 11, she could only come now due to an agitation held by BSP in Uttar Pradesh over derogatory remarks made against her by a BJP leader.
