BSFJawan killed while trying to stop cattle smuggling

​​The deceased Jawan, Tusharkanti Das was run over by a vehicle carrying at least 5 cattle.

Das who was on duty near the checking point tried to stop the vehicle when the vehicle was speeding.
KOLKATA: A 45 year old BSF Jawan was killed in a bid to stop a vehicle carrying cattle at Gaighata near Indo-Bangla border.

The deceased Jawan, Tusharkanti Das was run over by a vehicle carrying at least 5 cattle. Das was rushed to the local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The vehicle was trying to cross border through Angrail border point.


Das who was on duty near the checking point tried to stop the vehicle when the vehicle was speeding.

Das lost control and fell on the road . He was run over and the speeding vehicle rammed into a local shop.

The driver managed to escape the spot while his assistant , a 17 year old local was arrested .

Murder case has been initiated against the driver and his assistant. BSF personnel later recovered five cattle from the vehicle.
