BSF jawan attempts suicide in Poonch

JAMMU: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan attempted suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday at a forward post along the Line of Control (LoC) in the district, they said.

According to police, sepoy Vir Singh, who belongs to Rajasthan, shot himself with his rifle.

He was hospitalised and his condition is stated to be critical, police said, adding, a case in this regard has been registered.
