BSF foils Pakistani bid to target Indian post
JAMMU: Amid escalating tensions along the border, the BSF today said it had foiled an attempt by a Pakistani Border Action Team (BAT) to attack a forward post along the Line of Control.

Surveillance equipment detected the Pakistan Army team approaching the post in Krishnagati sub-sector in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir around 2330-2345 hours late last night, a BSF officer said.

Alert jawans of BSF's 135 battalion, manning the post, fired on them resulting in exchanges, he said.

The BAT escaped towards Pakistan side, he said adding that no one was injured on the Indian side.

On August 6, a Pakistani BAT intruded into Indian territory along the LoC in Poonch sector and killed five Indian soldiers in an ambush.
