Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike to have three clones
The creation of three new civic bodies will go on independent of the supersession proceedings of the current council.

The process will be set into motion next month. On Wednesday, March 18, ET had reported that such a move was imminent and that it would be done to avoid elections to the BBMP council.
The state government has already issued a notification to members of the BBMP Council asking why the council should not be superseded in view of the various complaints and charges of financial irregularities. “The creation of three new civic bodies will go on independent of the supersession proceedings of the current council,“ a senior government official said.
The urban development department will issue a draft notification proposing the creation of three new civic bodies in Bengaluru, and call for public opinion under Section 4 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act.
The government will give a minimum of 30 days for members of public to respond before issuing the final notification.
Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy criticised the decision saying it will increase administrative expenses and, instead of solving problems, might prove to be counter-productive.
