Brother of complainant seeks justice in harassment allegation against Karnataka judge

BENGALURU: A lady judicial officer who levelled allegations of harassment against Karnataka district judge P Krishna Bhat has sought an open inquiry into the matter after a court panel wrapped up its probe and gave him a clean chit. “All our allegations in the matter are on record and can be easily verified by anyone who carries out an inquiry,” the complainant’s brother told ET.

“All we are asking is: please conduct inquiry and give us justice. Please don’t just brush it aside.”

The lady, who served under Bhat in Belgaavi district about two years ago, has alleged he called her “adamant and arrogant” in his confidential report and that this denied her a promotion in time.


“Justice Bhat should not have even written her report for the first year as he had been her superior for only two months, whereas procedures mandate that it should be at least six months,” the brother said.

“He also broke procedure by writing the ACR for three years at one go. Why aren’t these things, which are recorded, being questioned?” Nobody had inquired about his sister’s side of the story, the brother said.
