Brimstowad project gets Rs 400 crore

MUMBAI: PM Manmohan Singh asked the BMC to complete Brihanmumbai storm water drain (Brimstowad) upgradation project “well ahead of its schedule of four years”.

He set an early deadline for the much-delayed project after he handed over a cheque for Rs 400 crore to the BMC towards the first installment of the Rs 1,800 crore drainage overhaul plan.

Mr Singh added that the Centre was about to sanction funds for Mithi river development project under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission.
