KOLKATA: The West Bengal Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBHIDCO) has planned to open a hub to sell traditional Bengali sweets in New Town.

The proposed cluster of shops set up as per the “shop in shop” concept will come up near the gate number one of Eco Park. This upcoming hub will soon be christened by the chief minister herself and house a first floor open terrace where people would get to enjoy sweet delicacies of the state.

As sweet is an integral part of Bengal’s culture which chief minister Mamata Banerjee wants to project globally through Biswa Bangla, the centre is likely to gain popularity soon after it is inaugurated.
