Border issues will not affect Indo-China relationship: Chinese envoy to India, Zhang Lizhong

Border issues would not have any impact on the Indo-China relationship, the consul-general of China in Kolkata, Zhang Lizhong, said today.

KOLKATA: Border issues would not have any impact on the Indo-China relationship, the consul-general of China in Kolkata, Zhang Lizhong, said today.

The consul-general said during an interactive session with the Bengal Chamber of Commerce members that the current $ 80 billion bilateral trade would touch $ 100 billion by 2015.

However, in January-May, 2012, bilateral trade was down by 2.8 per cent over the corresponding period last year.

He said 28 Chinese companies were active in the eastern region for implementing mostly infrastructure projects in this part of the country.

"Infrastructure is one area where China is interested to work closely with India," Lizhong said.
