Booklet of J-K government a 'photo album' of Omar: BJP

BJP today ridiculed Omar Abdullah's claims of achievement in a recently released booklet, saying the three-year record card is more of a "photo album" of the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister.

JAMMU: BJP today ridiculed Omar Abdullah's claims of achievement in a recently released booklet, saying the three-year record card is more of a "photo album" of the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister.

"The booklet released by Omar to highlight his achievements in the past three years is more of a photo album of the chief minister...and nothing more than that," BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas told reporters here.

The launch of this "photo album" as well as the pompous function organised to celebrate Omar's so called achievements is only a publicity stunt done at the expense of public exchequer, he alleged.

Manhas said the BJP dismisses as "hollow" and "ridiculous" the chief minister's claims of achievement on the completion of its three years in office.

The National Conference-led coalition government has proved a failure on all fronts particularly on the law and order front in Kashmir, he claimed.

"Moreover, corruption, scams and land encroachment have reached a peak during these three years. While the State Vigilance Organisation and State Accountability Commission are defunct, senior state functionaries including some ministers are openly indulging in loot and bribery," he alleged.
