Bomb found on LK Advani's yatra route near Madurai, he continues tour

NEW DELHI: A bomb was found on Friday on the route for LK Advani's Jan Chetna Yatra in Tamil Nadu. The bomb was found near Madurai, where Advani launched Phase 2 of his anti-corruption yatra.

"Some people found the pipe bomb under the bridge on which Advani was supposed to travel and informed the police," said a police officer.

"We cordoned off the area and recovered the bomb," he said.

The bomb was found in Alam Patti near Madurai, around 450 from Chennai. Police sources say the bomb has been removed. Advani will continue his tour.

The route of the yatra has been changed after the bomb was found.
