Bomb found at rail station in Dhanbad division

DHANBAD (JHARKHAND): A mishap was averted when a bomb, fitted with a timer device, was found at Kumardugi railway station in Dhanbad district today.

Railway police sources said the explosive was spotted by an alert passenger, waiting for a train, on the window sill of a room at the station in the wee hours.

Railway Protection Force ( RPF), Asansol, Commandant R S P Singh and senior Government Reserve Police officer Yogendra Singh rushed to the spot and put the explosive in a bucket of water.

A bomb disposal squad from Ranchi was reaching the spot to defuse it.
