Bomb blast scare: HAL receives threatening letter

Police have heightened security at the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's unit at Ojhar.

NASIK: Police have heightened security at the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's unit at Ojhar, about 21 km from here, after the state-owned company received an anonymous letter threatening to blow up the premier aerospace company's production unit, a top police official said on Wednesday.

The four-line letter, written in Hindi, received by the Ojhar-based company on Saturday, warned that 'Bambai-Malegaon ab Ojhar MIG...bas thoda intezar' (after Mumbai and Malegaon now Ojhar-MIG...wait for some time), Superintendent of Police (Nasik range), Rajvardhan told the media this morning.

Security has been enhanced at Ojhar airport and strict bandobast was being maintained at the 42-year-old company's factory and residential colony of HAL employees.

Following the police official's meeting with the top brass of HAL, close circuit cameras were also installed at the main gate of the company.
