Bomb blast in Manipur's border town Moreh

IMPHAL: Unidentified miscreants hurled a medium intensity bomb at the border town of Moreh in Manipur's Chandel district bordering Myanmar, a police officer said.

No casualties were reported in the blast last night, he said.

The officer said the blast could be an effort to intimidate the business community into paying extortion money in the tribal dominated town.

He said the town was infamous for various illegal activities, including drug trafficking and gun smuggling.

No arrests have been made so far in the incident, he added.
