Bomb blast in Colombo wounds 30: Police

A bomb went off in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo on Saturday, wounding at least 30 people, police and hospital sources said.

COLOMBO: A bomb went off in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo on Saturday, wounding at least 30 people, police and hospital sources said.

A package left near a fruit vendor exploded in Pettah, the main commercial hub of the capital, police said, adding that the blast was also near the main bus station.

A spokesman for the Colombo national hospital said 35 victims were brought in following the blast.
