BKU to hold demonstrations against land ordinance
MUZAFFARNAGAR: The Bhartiya Kisan Union ( BKU) today announced they will stage demonstrations in protest against the Centre's decision to change the Land Acquisition Act, saying the ordinance is "anti-farmer".

We will protest at every district headquarter on January 7 against the policy of the Centre regarding land acquisition, BKU national spokesman Choudhry Rakesh Tikait said.

The group said the issued ordinance is "in favour of industrialists and is purely anti-farmer."

"The government has done injustice with the farmers after amending the Land Acquisition Act. It is in favour of industrialists and is purely anti farmer. It is an easy way to snatch the agricultural land of farmers for industrialists", Tikait said.

Earlier on January 2, Congress party workers also held a demonstration against the Centre's ordinance to change the Land Acquisition Act and blocked traffic for an hour at DND.
