While the BJP has disbanded the entire Mumbai unit after the victim complained to the party bosses, anger is still brewing as the party has yet to file a police case in this connection. On Tuesday , Legislative Council Chairman Ramraje Nimbalkar asked the woman's statement should be taken `in camera' and asked CM to give a statement in the House by Friday .
BJP insiders claim that no police complaint has been filed against Pande as he is considered close to the Tawde andcity BJP chief Shelar's camp.
This was, however, denied by the Shelar camp. “The woman in question wrote to me on March 21, on the same day we gave a her hearing, dissolved the entire unit and suspended Pande's membership. I have taken strict action on women's complaint,“ said Ashish Shelar in a message to ET. He also denied that Pande was close to him and said he had `zero tolerance' for such issues.
When contacted, the victim said that she did not want to comment on the issue, but one of her close friends said that she may decide on filing a police complaint in two days.
Meanwhile, state BJP chief Danve has formed a committee to inquire into the allegations.
