BJYM molestation case: Opposition demands police case against Ganesh Pande
MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Assembly has been witnessing noisy scenes for the last two days over the BJYM molestation issue. All the parties, excluding BJP , have demanded that a police case be registered against the former Mumbai BJP Yuva Morcha chief Ganesh Pande who has been accused of molesting and passing lewd remarks on a party worker. The incident happened earlier this month when the Mumbai unit of the BJP Yuva Morcha had gone to Mathura.

While the BJP has disbanded the entire Mumbai unit after the victim complained to the party bosses, anger is still brewing as the party has yet to file a police case in this connection. NCP leader Supriya Sule, Sena president Udd hav have demanded that a police case be filed against Pande. Leader of the Opposition Rad hakrishna Vik he Patil of the Congress said that they will ra ise the issue in the Assembly on Wednesday .

On Tuesday , Legislative Council Chairman Ramraje Nimbalkar asked the woman's statement should be taken `in camera' and asked CM to give a statement in the House by Friday .

BJP insiders claim that no police complaint has been filed against Pande as he is considered close to the Tawde andcity BJP chief Shelar's camp.

This was, however, denied by the Shelar camp. “The woman in question wrote to me on March 21, on the same day we gave a her hearing, dissolved the entire unit and suspended Pande's membership. I have taken strict action on women's complaint,“ said Ashish Shelar in a message to ET. He also denied that Pande was close to him and said he had `zero tolerance' for such issues.

When contacted, the victim said that she did not want to comment on the issue, but one of her close friends said that she may decide on filing a police complaint in two days.
