BJSP to protest display of currency notes in Lok Sabha
Criticising the BJP members' "irresponsible" action of waving wads of currency notes in the Lok Shabha, Uma Bharti on Wednesday announced that her party will hold a day-long fast to "repent" the "shameful deed" of the opposition party.
"Waving wads of currency notes inside the house is a very shocking and sad act. They have made a mockery of the highest temple of democracy in the country," Bharti said at a press conference here.
The former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister said that all 14 units of her party will observe a day-long fast before the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Deen Dayal Upadhayay "to repent the BJP's attempt to defame Parliamentary democracy."
"If the party wanted to disclose the horse-trading of MPs by the ruling coalition before Parliament, they should have simply submitted the money to the Speaker," Bharti, a former BJP leader, said.
Flaying the BJP for resorting to "the worst way to expose the scam," she said that the opposition party should apologise publicly for the shameful act.
"Members are even not allowed to wave a newspaper inside the house as it is against the the decorum of Parliament. If one wants to prove something through documents, one is supposed to table it before the Speaker," she said, adding that the three BJP MPs have "blatantly defied all the rules". She also deamanded strict action against the three MPs.
"In past also, BJP MPs have been involved in immigration scam and cash for query scam. The party should apologise and accept that its MPs are saleble," Bharti alleged. PTI KNO SPC ALM 07240034 DEL NNNN
