Backed by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Sonaram was given ticket by the party instead of the veteran Jaswant Singh.

The former Congress MLA had been vocal against former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and had joined BJP last week. Sonaram was accompanied by his supporters here today.

Annoyed over the decision of the party to give ticket to Sonaram, Jaswant Singh had filed nomination papers from the seat as an independent candidate yesterday.
