BJP's bad days have begun, says Samajwadi Party
LUCKNOW: Claiming that communal issues like 'Love Jihad' failed to fetch votes for BJP in the assembly by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav today said people preferred harmony while voting for SP candidates.

BJP's "communal trick" worked during the Lok Sabha polls but it failed to check corruption and prices of essential commodities after coming to power which also contributed to its defeat in the bypolls, he told reporters here.

"Now bad days have started for those (BJP) who made the promise of 'acche din' during the Lok Sabha polls," the SP spokesman said.

Shivpal charged BJP with whipping up communal passions in the state to derive political mileage.

Their "communal trick" worked during the Lok Sabha polls but this time issues like 'Love Jihad' backfired for the party, he said.

The outcome of the just-concluded bypolls showed that SP had a strong base in the state, Shivpal said.
