KOCHI|BENGAURU: Union HRD minister Smriti Irani travelled to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's constituency, Amethi, to campaign against Congress' 'disruptive politics,' in Parliament, but her partymen who vowed to carry the battle to each and every Congress and Communist MPs' constituency are yet to launch similar protests.

BJP Kerala unit president V Muralidharan told ET that party MPs from other states will visit constituencies of Congress and Left parties next week to protest against disruption of Parliament proceedings. "We hope to start this campaign in Kerala by the first week of September," he said. BJP leaders in Karnataka claim that they have not targeted the 9 Lok Sabha con stituencies in the state as "we were busy with the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike elections." State unit president Prahlad Joshi, who represents Dharwad in the Lok Sabha, told ET: "We will target all Congress constituencies in the first week of September. We will play a CD of how the Congress disrupted the monsoon session of Parliament and explain to the people how much loss this has caused the country.We will also stage dharnas in all constituencies."

Karnataka Congress does not seem to have worked out any plan to counter BJP. Former Union minister M Veerappa Moily, who represents Chikballapur, told ET: "They don't want to govern, they only want to play politics. Let them. The people will respond, we don't have to. They are sinking and we will just let them sink."

BJP is already involved in a series of clashes with the CPM in Kerala. In the last two days, a BJP worker and a CPM member were killed in violence in the northern districts.
