BJP would not benefit with Rajnath at helm: Govindacharya

Govindacharya said that BJP's style of working is "cunning and conspiratorial".

DHAR: Former BJP ideologue K N Govindacharya today said the saffron party will suffer in absence of a "scientific" method of selection of its President, and that it would not benefit from the election of Rajnath Singh as its leader.

He was commenting on Rajnath Singh's election, a day after Nitin Gadkari dramatically opted out of the race for a second term for the BJP chief, following which the 61-year-old leader from Uttar Pradesh was unanimously elected to the top post today.

Govindacharya said that BJP's style of working is "cunning and conspiratorial".

"Because of this complex working style, a crisis of trust has overshadowed the BJP leadership. In the absence of a scientific method, the party instead of gaining will suffer more losses," Govindacharya said.

Seven-eight names were doing the rounds for the President post. There is lack of trust and dialogue in the party which has its own advantages and disadvantages, he added.

After marginalisation of senior party leader L K Advani, a void has been created in the party, he felt.
