BJP urges govt to install Vivekananda statue on seashore

PUDUCHERRY: BJP today demanded that the Puducherry government announce installation of Swami Vivekananda's statue on the seashore here as a highlight of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of the savant.

Party's local unit secretary R V Swaminathan said in a release that the Chief Minister should make the announcement in this assembly session and said he should follow the example of Tamil Nadu government, which had already taken steps to conduct the celebrations.
