BJP urges Election Commission to act against Beni Prasad Verma, Arjun Modhwadia, AAP
The complaint alleged that Verma and Modhwadia used derogatory language against BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

The complaint alleged that Verma and Modhwadia used derogatory language against BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
"Verma recently said that at the age of 18, Modi killed someone and ran away from home. This is utterly baseless. Verma also termed Modi a descendant of Hitler. Such defamatory language is a violation of the code of conduct. We demand that the EC ban Verma from talking to the media or addressing any more rallies," BJP's Gularat legal convener Parindu Bhagat in a press release issued here today.
The BJP also asked the EC to be more strict. "In response to one such complaint filed by the BJP against Verma on March 30, the EC had warned Verma against using such language again, but it seems that people like Verma are not taking the EC seriously," Bhagat said.
Besides Verma, BJP also asked the EC to take action against Modhwadia, who allegedly used defamatory language during his interview to a city based TV news channel on April 16.
The BJP also complained against AAP for posting a photograph of a woman setting herself ablaze on its Facebook page.
"The caption given by AAP claims that a Dalit woman was burnt alive in Gujarat. However, the incident took place in Pakistan. We want the EC to lodge an FIR againt AAP for posting such politically motivated photographs with an intention to malign Gujarat's image," Bhagat said in his complaint to the EC today.
