BJP trying to replicate Jammu and Kashmir alliance in Assam: Gogoi
Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is bara bhai (big brother) of Perfume Baron Moulana Bradrudin Ajmal.

Gogoi stated that supremo of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Ajmal and BJP is out to replicate the PDP-BJP type alliance of Jammu and Kashmir in Assam.
Assam is going to polls next year. Gogoi said, “Ajmal address Modi as Big brother. Both BJP and AIUDF are communal parties. We oppose both of them. There is an understanding between RSS and AIUDF.”
There is a section in congress which is advocating for Congress-AIUDF alliance for the 2016 assembly polls. AIUDF has gobbled up the muslim support base of congress. Gogoi said that there is a move to repeat PDP-BJP alliance ofJammu and Kashmir however this will not work here. Ideologically divergent they joint hands for grabbing power. “This move will favour congress in elections.”
Taunting AIUDF and BJP, Gogoi said, “Never AIUDF criticizes BJP leaders of Assam, they always criticize me,”
AIUDF formed in 2006 is improving its tally with each election. AIUDF clinched 10 seats in 2006 assembly polls. In 2011 assembly polls AIUDF got 18 seats and emerged as the largest opposition party in the State Legislative Assembly.
AIUDF has increased its tally from one seat of 2009 to 3 in 2014 Lok sabha polls.
