BJP, Trinamool members share lighter moments in Rajya Sabha
NEW DELHI: Members of BJP and Trinamool Congress, bitter rivals in West Bengal, today shared some ligher moments in Rajya Sabha during a debate on Land Boundary Bill.

Replying to a debate on a constitutional amendment (119th Constitutional Amendment Act of 2013) which will allow the operationalisation of the 1974 India-Bangladesh Land Boundary agreement, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj recalled the demand of an MP for holding talks with TMC over the issue.

Quoting the MP, she said he had suggested that the Centre should hold talks with the " Derek O'Brein Party" over the issue.

When Swaraj repeated it, O'Brien, TMC's Rajya Sabha Floor Leader, rose to correct the Minister, saying it was " Mamata Banerjee Party". This evoked laughter among MPs in the House.

However, the External Affairs Minister clarified that she was only quoting the MP and ended the issue by saying "TMC is fully on board" over the issue.
