KOLKATA: Next parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place in 2019. But both the BJP and Trinamool Congress have engaged themselves in campaigning for the elections and both the parties have deployed their supreme leaders for the job.

BJP president Amit Shah reached Bengal on Tuesday and launched their "Booth Cholo" program from Naxalbari where Shah claimed that BJP would get maximum seats from Bengal during 2019 parliamentary elections. He also claimed that his party would form the government in Bengal in the next assembly elections.

Mamata Banerjee, on the other hand, addressed a rally in Cooch Behar where she urged people not to support BJP. "BJP is a party of rioters and never vote for them," Mamata told the rally.

" Trinamool Congress would not be able to stop Narendra Modi's chariot and the lotus will bloom in West Bengal, BJP president Amit Shah stated on Tuesday at Siliguri.

The BJP chief, who arrived here on a three-day visit, had lunch at the house of a tribal family before interacting with party workers.

"Trinamool Congress may think they can stop Modi ji's chariot, but they cannot stop it. The more they try to stop us, the more the lotus will bloom here," Shah said.

"In 2019 ( Lok Sabha polls), the BJP will get the maximum number of seats in West Bengal. The people of the country will witness it," claimed the BJP chief, adding that "Trinamool Congress is unleashing violence but in the end, the BJP's victory in Bengal is certain. No one can stop it," he added.

Shah will be in Kolkata on Wednesday to hold talks with local people of Bhowanipore, the assembly constituency of Mamata Banerjee. Interestingly, the chief minister would be away in north Bengal during Shah's interaction with common people of her constituency.
