CHENNAI: The strained relations between NDA and its ally PMK came to the fore today as a senior BJP leader today said the party's central command would take appropriate action into the issue of PMK announcing Anbumani Ramadoss as Chief Ministerial candidate for next year's assembly polls.

"It is against coalition dharma. The Central command will take appropriate action. We have taken note of it", BJP National Secretary H Raja told reporters here.

Earlier this week, PMK at its special general council and political conference at Salem, had adopted a resolution naming Anbumani, son of party founder Dr S Ramadoss as Chief Ministerial candidate and to lead an alternative front to free the State from the clutches of Dravidian parties.

There were expectations that PMK, which has been highly critical of several schemes of the NDA Government, might take a call on continuing its ties in the backdrop of Vaiko led MDMK quitting it recently, but no reference to it was made in the resolution.
