BJP to soon launch social media blitzkrieg in Tripura

GUWAHATI: Escalating tension between CPI (M) and BJP in Kerala will feature in the social media campaign of BJP in Tripura. The party plans to launch large scale social media campaign shortly in poll bound Tripura.

Tripura is going to assembly polls early next year. On Monday the party organised social media workshops for workers which was attended by over 1000 workers from across the state.

BJP’s national general secretary Ram Madhav who was in Tripura to attend the workshop said, “We will highlight the misdeeds of the Left Front government which is ruling the state. We will highlight the violent nature of the CPI (M) which is killing BJP workers in Kerala.”

Left is ruling Tripura for last 24 years. BJP has gone into election mode in Tripura. The party has set timeline to finish all organisational activities by the end of this month and start election campaign from November 1 onwards.

BJP in the state is trying to rope Prime Minister Narendra Modi and have as many as three rallies before the announcement of the election dates.

Mrinal Kanti Deb, spokesperson of Tripura BJP unit told ET, “Constitution of most of the committees is already done. The vision document committee is constituted.”

Deb said that BJP has made inroads in the state and is fast emerging as alternative to the ruling Left Front.

In the Left Front-ruled Tripura, talks of tie up between BJP and IPFT (Indigenous People's Front of Tripura) (NC faction) is on, however nothing is final yet.

“Things are likely to take concrete shape by November this year,” BJP’s strategist for Northeast India and the NEDA convener, Himanta Biswa Sarma recently told ET.
