As part of the initiative, the party sent 68 LED Raths to all the 68 assembly constituencies, each of which carried a suggestion box. People were asked to submit their suggestions in the box. The party has also kept suggestion boxes in the urban areas of the 20 assembly constituencies to get maximum suggestions from the people. BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sikander Kumar was the in-charge of the initiative.
On Wednesday, the BJP collected all the suggestion boxes and brought them to Shimla.
"We have received around 25,000 suggestions from the people. Currently, a team of party workers are compiling the suggestions. Once it is done, then the suggestions will be taken forward by the manifesto committee and will become part of our Drishti Patra," Sanjay Tandon, co-incharge of Himachal BJP, told ET. "We will release our manifesto in a week's time."
Party leaders told ET that around 20,000 suggestions were posted in these boxes while 5,000 suggestions were received online. The leaders said that suggestions have come from different sections of society including farmers, women, the youth, SC and ST communities among others.
