BJP to mobilize 10L youth for nationwide stir from August 25
In what seemed like BJP’s attempt to cash in on the Anna Hazare movement , the party announced an ambitious plan on Saturday .

BJP has been raising issues like corruption, price rise and black money for the last three years. Now, the party will launch a massive people mobilization programme to fight corruption ,” party spokesperson Jagat Prakash Nadda said. He announced that on August 25 the BJP will launch a “Yuva Vahini” (youth brigade) campaign through BJYM to mobilize the party cadre and the youth of the country.
“Under the Yuva Vahini, our target is to enroll 10 lakh youth to fight against corruption . We will neither indulge in corruption, nor allow others to indulge in it. We want a corruption-free society,” Nadda said in the presence of BJP MP and BJYM president Anurag Thakur.
BJP’s agitation against corruption will continue through processions, protests and demonstrations in which national-level party leaders will be invited, Nadda said, adding, “the government wants to nourish corruption. It is adopting undemocratic means to crush all agitations against corruption... We want to free India of such a government through an aggressive campaign .”
The party also said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s appeal for a consensus on the Lokpal Bill “lacked commitment” and described it as a “time killing, diversionary tactic” , and demanded that the government first make its stand clear on the series of scams and pending issues like formation of a separate Telangana state.
“The Prime Minister’s appeal for consensus on Lokpal Bill is hollow and without any commitment on the part of the government. The same appeal was made on the issue of Telangana but the stand of the ruling party , the so-called consensus remains illusive,” BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.
