BJP to meet West Bengal Governor for release of abducted minor girl

KOLKATA: BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh said on Sunday that he will meet West Bengal governor KN Tripathi soon to take up the case of 14 year-old girl who was abducted from her Mograhat residence in South 24 Parganas about three months back and was yet to be rescued by the police.

Opposing police inaction in finding out the abducted girl and to punish those involved in the crime, Bengal BJP is holding a protest demonstration in front of the Mograhat police station since Thursday .

Singh on Sunday visited Mograhat and told media that “Mograhat has become a point of discussion all over India because a minor girl has been kidnapped for more than 85 days now and the police has failed to trace the kidnappers or the kidnapped. This is because the kidnappers are somehow linked with the Trinamool Congress."

BJP leadership has also taken up the issue with the National Commission For Women (NCW). Sources said NCW chariperson Lalitha Kumaramangalam will visit Mograhat on Monday .

NCW will hold a probe into the incident, BJP sources claimed. The police is hesitant to take any action because if they initiate any proper action, they might face punishment. Instead, the state administration is trying to paint the incident communally .“

“The girl's mother has lodged a complaint with the police stating that the girl was not only abducted, but also raped by those who had taken her forcibly to an unknown destination,“ informed Singh.

The girl from Mograhat in South 24Parganas district is missing since May this year and her father had approached West Bengal chief secretary and sought his help to trace and get back his daughter.
