GUWAHATI: Bharatiya Janata Party will launch a state-wide movement in Marxist-ruled Tripura following a member of Students’ Federation of India ( SFI) urinating on a college student for putting up a “Bharat Mata ki Jai” sticker on his motor bike.

BJP has alleged that despite lodging complaint, police is yet to take action against the SFI member. Soon BJP will start a series of agitation programmes, which will be attended by senior Central BJP leaders.

BJP’s incharge for Tripura, Sunil Deodhar, will soon arrive in the state. Recently, Alok Kumar Deb, a college student in Kamalpur in Tripura’s Dhalai district, was manhandled and urinated upon by SFI members. Deb is a BJP supporter.

Later when he tried to meet the Principal of the college, he was prevented from doing so and attacked. BJP’s Tripura unit spokesperson Mrinal Kanti Deb said that Deb had registered a police complaint but no action has been taken. “In front of Sub divisional police officer SFI members attacked Alok. We will target chief minister Manik Sarkar in our agitation,” Deb said.
