BJP to have its best ever performance in LS elections, projected to win 195 seats: Poll survey
UPA is projected to get 129 seats, of which Congress alone will win 106 while NDA will get 229, falling short of the majority figure of 272.

The poll predicts that BJP-led NDA will get 229 seats, with the saffron party emerging with its highest tally of 195 seats. This is in keeping with what most of the earlier polls have predicted. The Congress will manage to cross the three-figure mark with 106 seats.
The alternate front and other parties are likely to get 185 seats with the highest vote share of 43 per cent. They include Navin Patnaik’s BJD, Jayalalithaa’s AIADMK, Mamata Banerjee’s TMC, Mayawati’s BSP and Mulayam Singh Yadav’s SP.
The poll does not give any figures for the seats that AAP will get except for Delhi where it says that Arvind Kejriwal’s party will get four of the seven seats. While BJP is likely to bag half of the seats in UP, BSP is likely to be number two with 15, SP next with 13 and Congress-RLD combine will just manage 12 seats.
BJP will also manage nine seats in the newly breakaway state Seemandhra where Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSR Congress will sweep with 15 seats. Congress will be reduced to one from its present tally of 21. Congress can perhaps pin its hopes on a tie up with TRS which may get 11 seats in Telangana, and Congress five.
NDA’s performance in Punjab is not predicted to be as good as 2009. Congress is slated to win eight of the 13 seats in the state. Navin Patnaik’s BJD is expected to sweep Odisha with 17 of the 21 seats.
