PATNA: Maintaining that marginalization of regional parties in Maharashtra and Haryana must not be seen as a pattern, senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi today said his party would contest the Bihar Assembly polls next year in alliance with LJP and RLSP.

"Marginalization of regional parties in Maharashtra and Haryana should not be deemed as a national pattern," the former deputy chief minister told reporters here.

He disagreed with political commentators that regional parties were facing a spectre of extinction in the wake of BJP's agenda to replace Congress as a dominant political force in the country and said that the saffron party had no plan to leave its allies in the lurch.

"What has happened in Haryana and Maharashtra must be deemed as an isolated case," he said referring to BJP's alliance breaking with Haryana Janhit Party (HJP) and Shiv Sena in both the states.

"In Bihar, we are going to contest the Assembly polls in alliance with the LJP and the RLSP, being headed by the union ministers Ramvilas Paswan and Upendra Kushwaha respectively," he said.
