NEW DELHI: After visiting China and Korea, a delegation of BJP representatives is likely to visit Singapore, next month, a party official said. Measures to tackle pollution and the economic slowdown and steps to improve infrastructure are top of the agenda of this delegation’s visit.

Party general secretary Bhupender Yadav was selected to lead the delegation, but since the visit is scheduled during the Parliament session, Yadav is likely to pass the charge to someone else. The names of the members are yet to be decided, the party member said.

Apart from how Singapore is handling its economy and jobs, the delegation will also look into the country’s implementation of GST, handling of plastic waste, how the country has revved up its ease of business and quality of living. “Infrastructure will be the major learning for us,” another member said. Recently, a delegation, headed by party general secretary P Muralidhar Rao, visited South Korea. Anirban Ganguly, director of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation (SPMRF) who was part of the delegation to Korea, said the delegation had extensive consultations on how to improve cultural exchanges between Korea and India, with the common connect being Ayodhya. According to belief, a large number of Koreans trace their ancestry to the legendary Queen Suriratna (Heo Hwang-ok) who went from Ayodhya to Korea.
