MUMBAI: The BJP and Shiv Sena on Tuesday agreed to set up a coordination committee to chalk out plans for the Lok Sabha and state assembly elections in 2014, BJP deputy leader in Lok Sabha Gopinath Munde said here today after a meeting with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.

"Uddhav proposed setting up of a coordination committee for the Lok Sabha and Maharashtra Assembly elections. I have no objection to his proposal. We agreed to form the committee," Munde said.

BJP state party president Devendra Phadnavis was also present at the meeting.

Munde said the new alliance partner Republican Party of India led by Ramdas Athwale will also have its representation in the coordination committee.

"We (Shiv Sena-BJP and RPI) will together fight the Lok Sabha and state assembly elections," he said.
