New Delhi: With assembly elections in four states concluded, organisational restructuring and governance changes are set to take centre stage in the Bharatiya Janata Party's next phase of political activity.

At the national level, consultations for formation of BJP president Nitin Nabin's new team has been going on. Two-three general secretaries of the current team are expected to continue in the new team as well. While the new team is expected to be relatively younger as Nabin himself is around 45 years of age.

The delay indicates a calibrated approach as the party looks to align its organisational structure with upcoming political challenges. Party sources suggest that May is likely to witness key decisions, with long-pending organisational changes expected to be finalised.

In UP, attention is focused on a long-awaited Cabinet reshuffle in the government led by Yogi Adityanath. With assembly elections scheduled early next year, the reshuffle is expected to go beyond filling vacant positions. Sources indicate possible changes in ministerial portfolios and the induction of new faces to better reflect regional and caste dynamics.

At the same time, BJP's state unit under Pankaj Chaudhary is also likely to see a new team, ensuring organisational alignment with electoral priorities.

In Bihar, preparations are underway for the expansion of the Cabinet led by chief minister Samrat Choudhary. As per BJP-JDU arrangement, both parties are expected to have equal representation, with around 16 ministerial positions each.

The redistribution of portfolios will also follow this formula. In this context, Nabin recently met Sanjay Jha, JDU's national working president, to discuss the contours of the expansion, highlighting ongoing coordination between alliance partners ahead of the exercise.
