BJP sets the agenda of disruption of parliament before every session: Sitaram Yechury
GUWAHATI: CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on Sunday said that before every session of parliament BJP creates such situations whereby its functioning becomes difficult and later blames opposition for bedlam. BJP sets the agenda beforehand so that house cannot function.

Yechury who was in Guwahati said that there is all party meeting on Monday. “I want to assure that there will be no disruption of the house when there is vital discussion on JNU, suicide of Dalit student. I have already given notices for discussions on these issues."

Left parties will launch countrywide agitation on February 23 to 25 demanding release of JNU president, dropping of sedition charges against Kanhaiya Kumar and to allow the universities resolve its own problem.

Launching broadside attack on Prime minister, Narendra Modi led government, Yechury said, “Those opposing the divisive polices of the NDA government are branded as anti-nationals, traitors. They (NDA) government want to install huge size tricolour flag at the universities. Let me tell them that we have tricolours in our hearts and that is much bigger and larger.”

He added that there is protest by Jat community in Haryana, Patels in Gujarat and Kapu community in Andhra Pradesh. “Dissatisfaction is there among communities for BJP did not fulfill any promises despite being in power for last 20 months.

There is attempt to capture educational institutions and impose Hindu scriptures on the history of the country.”

Yechury said in the JNU there was slogan, “We want Azadi”, what is wrong in that. “Don’t we want freedom from poverty? This is patriotism. They (BJP) is trying to replace philosophy and history with Hindu mythology and theology. The NDA is trying to hide its incompetence and by doing all this it is trying to divert the attention of people.”

The CPI(M) general secretary said this was what Hitler did in Germany fanning extreme nationalism and fascism. The situation in the country is more dangerous than the 1975 emergency. In today’s context anybody opposing the government is branded anti national.” In Hyderabad University where a Dalit student committed suicide, in FTII-Pune and in Jadavpur University there is attempt to curb protest. This is design of RSS to make India Hindu Rastra.

Speaking on the prospects of party in West Bengal, which was once Left parties bastion, he said, BJP and Trinamool have tacit understanding. “TMC and BJP is working in tandem. BJP needs TMC in parliament and TMC needs BJP help in multi crore shardha scam where the needle of suspicion is pointing to chief minister, Mamata Banerjee’s involvement in the multi Crore Shardha chit fund scam. Minority fundamentalism and majority communalism feed on each other.”

He added Left parties is exploring tie up with those which can fight this forces.
