BJP, Samajwadi Party responsible for violence at Muzaffarnagar: Madhusudan Mistry
Condemning violence in Muzaffarnagar, Congress alleged that BJP wanted to grab power by "instigating riots" like in Gujarat.

"BJP wants to grab power in the country by adopting Gujarat model and Samajwadi Party is supporting it in this task...whatever has happened in Muzaffarnagar puts a stamp on my view on this," Congress general secretary Madhusudan Mistry told reporters here.
"Muzaffarnagar kept burning and SP government allowed it to simmer.. the state government failed on its own. This is the politics of dead bodies and it is just a trailer and I condemn it forcefully," Mistry, also the Congress in-charge for Uttar Pradesh, said.
In an indirect mention to the demands of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's resignation, Mistry said "the chief minister or minister who cannot protect the people do not have the right to remain on the post."
Mistry said that Congress workers would go to different parts of the state and apprise people about the "conspiracy" between BJP and Samajwadi Party.
Charging the state government with being insensitive towards the riot victims, Mistry said "it (government) has failed to restore feeling of security among the affected people about their rehabilitation."
Mistry demanded immediate and strong action against those who had instigated riots in Muzaffaranagar.
On the occasion, UPCC president Nirmal Khatri termed the case against former party MP, Harendra Malik as an attempt to harm the image of Congress.
