IRCTC’s New Next Generation e-Ticketing System won the award for the most innovative use of internet technology by central government public sector units.

BJP-ruled states win 10 out of 18 National e-Governance Awards
NEW DELHI: BJP-ruled states have bagged 10 out of the 18 National e-Governance Awards given by the Modi government this year, with the PM’s home state Gujarat leading the tally with three awards. The refurbished IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) website and Delhi Police Traffic App have also won the top honours.

Among BJP-ruled states, Maharashtra and Rajasthan have won two awards apiece, while Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh have picked up one award each.

BJD-ruled Odisha has won two awards, while Trinamool Congress-ruled West Bengal’s Child-Online Tracking System for Missing Children has been adjudged the best in citizen-centric service delivery category. Delhi Police won two awards, for its Mobile Traffic App and its Lost Report application where nearly seven lakh people lodged online complaints of their lost goods. IRCTC’s New Next Generation e-Ticketing System (NGET) won the award for the most innovative use of internet technology by central government public sector units.
